Download and Installation
1) Click here to download the latest IObit Malware Fighter 5.
2) Double-click the downloaded IObit-Malware-Fighter-Setup.exe to start the installation.
Pro users can always enjoy the latest version and database automatically with Automatically update the program and database option ticked by default in Settings.
Free users can manually update IObit Malware Fighter 5 and its database with either of the options below:
1) Click at the top right of the main screen and select Check for Updates to update your program and/or database to the latest when updates are available.
2) Click in the main screen can also help you update the outdated database when your database is outdated.
Click Enter Code link at the bottom right corner of IObit Malware Fighter 5 main screen, enter your license code, and click Register Now button to activate the Pro version. Visit here for step-by-step activation instructions.
Manage License - After upgrading to the Pro version, you can click Manage License link at the bottom right of the screen to check the detailed license information, Refresh your license, or Export License.
This is the first screen you may see after IObit Malware Fighter is installed and launched.
Hovering your mouse on any of the five icons on the middle left can show you the sidebar details. You can switch among different modules through clicking the corresponding sidebar icon. Please refer to picture below:
Note: If you do not want to show the sidebar, you can untick Show sidebar menu when hover mouse on the icons in settings.
When you open IObit Malware Fighter 5, you may see one of the two following security status according to the current security status of your PC.
YOUR PC IS SECURE - It indicates that your computer is fully protected by IObit Malware Fighter.
YOUR PC MAY NOT BE SECURE - It indicates that your IObit Malware Fighter is not fully functional. It happens when one of the following situations exists:
1. The database is outdated;
2. Functions under Browser Protect or Security Guard are not fully turned on.
At these circumstances, please just click Fix All button. Then the program will check and turn on all functions under Browser Protect and Security Guard and/or update the database simultaneously to get the full protection.
Scan and Protect Engines
IObit Anti-malware Engine is enabled by default. You can not disable it to ensure your PC security.
Anti-ransomware Engine is off by default. You can enable it manually after you activated IObit Malware Fighter Pro to protect your PC from ransomware attacks.
Bitdefender Engine is off by default. You can enable it manually after you activated IObit Malware Fighter Pro.
Hovering your mouse on the icon of each engine can show you the details about the engine status and its database. Clicking the drop-down arrow button can unfold the three engines in the main screen as below:
You can also check the details for the Engines in the scanning process screen and Security Guard.
IObit Malware Fighter provides four scan methods: Smart Scan, Full Scan, Custom Scan and Right-click Scan.
Smart Scan - Click Smart Scan to quickly scan the most critical sections of your computer.
Full Scan - Click Full Scan to comprehensively scan all hard drives for the deepest infections, and remove or quarantine them. Generally, Full Scan takes much longer time than Smart Scan, Custom Scan and Right-click Scan.
Custom Scan - Enable you to choose the items you would like to perform a customized scan. Excepting list all disks on your computer, it also displays System Critical Area and Memory Process as they are the parts that have the highest possibility of being infected. To scan those locations, just tick the checkbox box before them and click Scan button. You can navigate to a specific folder in any disk to perform custom scan instead of scanning the whole disk.
Right-click Scan - Right click on the item you want to scan, then you can select Scan by IObit Malware Fighter in the context menu.
Choose a scan method that you want to start a scan as the picture below:
Tick Automatically remove to remove the threats found automatically after scan. By clicking the dropdown arrow icon, you have 5 options as the picture shows: Automatically remove, Shut download PC after remove, Restart PC after remove, Hibernate after remove, and Sleep after remove. Tick the one that you want according to your requirements.
1) If it does not detect threats, the scanning result will claim No threats found. Your PC is safe now.
2) If it detects threats, the scanning result will display the detailed information about those threats.
Right click on the threat, there are five options supplied.
Select All - Click to select all the threats found.
Deselect All - Click to deselect the threats found.
Invert Selection - Click to invert the selection.
Add to Whitelist - Add this threat to Whitelist and it won’t be scanned anymore unless removed from Whitelist.
Save Report - Save the scan result report into a log file. You can use this report for further check or send us the report for investigation when False Positive happens.
Click Remove to remove the threats found on your PC or click Cancel to not deal with the threats found. However, it is highly recommended that you remove all the threats found to ensure your PC security.
False Positive - In case of a false positive, please click False Positive link at the bottom left corner to submit it to IObit Forum. IObit Support Team will confirm this false positive and solve it accordingly.

Click Browser Protect through sidebar to open the window below. These features can help protect your browsers in real-time and ensure you a safer and smoother surfing environment.Browser Protect provides 6 features as below to protect your browsers against threats.
Homepage Protection - It monitors any change to your browser homepage and search engine, and notifies you to undo the change to prevent malicious modification. Currently, it supports Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. You can click Details text link to check the protection status, history or adjust the settings to serve you better as the picture below:
Anti-Tracking - It protects you from being tracked by monitoring and cleaning harmful tracking data proactively and automatically once your browser closed. Currently, it supports Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. This feature is only available for IObit Malware Fighter Pro users.
Download Protection - It scans the downloaded files to keep you away from malicious files.
DNS Protect - It protects your system DNS settings from being modified by malware. You can click the Details link to select the DNS settings you want to protect.
Plugin / Toolbar Cleaner - It protects your browsers against the malicious plugins / toolbars. Currently, it supports Internet Explorer and Firefox. Click Manage to uninstall unwanted plugins / toolbars by IObit Uninstaller. If you haven't installed IObit Uninstaller, you will see the Learn more button. Click Learn more will lead you to a free download page to download IObit Uninsatller first.
Surfing Protection & Ads Removal - It protects you against various online threats to secure your surfing experience, and keeps you undisturbed from annoying ads on webpages. Currently, it supports Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Firefox.
Click Security Guard on the sidebar to open Security Guard window. IObit Malware Fighter supplies 8 guards to fully protect your system against various of threats.
NOTE: Only IObit Malware Fighter Pro edition can get all guards unlocked.
By hovering your mouse over each guard, you will see the detailed explanation for each guard as follows:
Network Guard - Blocks web pages containing threats.
Security Reinforce - It helps users reinforce the security of system weakness to avoid being hacked by Trojans or hackers. You can click Details text link to see what protections are included in this feature.
File Guard - Scans for threats when running unknown files.
Camera Guard - Protects your Camera from unauthorized access by unknown programs.
Startup Guard - Protects against suspicious malware at Windows Startup.
USB Disk Guard - Prevents USB virus from harming your PC. This feature is only available for IObit Malware Fighter Pro users.
Process Guard - Detects malicious process running in RAM. This feature is only available for IObit Malware Fighter Pro users.
Malicious Action - Detects threats by analyzing malicious actions. This feature is only available for IObit Malware Fighter Pro users.
Here you can also see details of your protect history by clicking Protect History.
Click Log to open the log settings screen to check your Scan Log, Malware Protect Log and Virus Protect Log as the picture below.
Protect report - This report shows you the threat processed by Security Guard.
Recently Scan Items - These items record the cookies processed by Anti-Tracking.
To get better security protection and performance boost, Action Center recommends you other well-known IObit software.You can run the programs directly in Action Center once you installed them.You can click Learn more to visit a free download page to download and install the program you want, or click Learn more button to update your outdated IObit Programs easily.
Note: Click Hide at the middle right of the window if you do not want the recommended programs, and click Show at the bottom right to display them again when you change mind.
Click at the top right of main the screen and click Settings to set your settings for IObit Malware Fighter 5 according to your own needs and habits at first.
Note:Do not forget to click Apply and OK buttons to save your changes.
System Tray Icon
After launching IObit Malware Fighter, you will see an icon of your IObit Malware Fighter in the system tray. If your database is outdated, you can get outdated notification and update database directly here. When you have the latest database, hovering your mouse over the icon, you can see the status of your PC and the three engines. When all your engines are on, you can see the Scan Now and click it to scan your PC directly. If any of the engines are not enabled, you can see Turn On button to enable the engines. Please refer to below pictures:
Right click the icon and you can see the functions in the context menu as the picture below:
Open IObit Malware Fighter - Open the main window of IObit Malware Fighter.
Smart Scan - Run a smart scan of your PC.
Browser Protect - Open Browser Protect Window directly.
Turn off Real-time Protection - You can choose to turn off real-time protection Until Restart IMF or Permanently.
It is strongly recommended that you keep real-time protection running in the background to protect your PC from various malware attacks.
Exit - Close IObit Malware Fighter completely.

Report False Positive
A false positive occurs when an anti-malware program detects a file as malicious, but in fact, it is legitimate. False Positives are unavoidable for any security software including IObit Malware Fighter 5 and we are always trying our best to prevent these false positives from happening. In the event of a false positive, please follow the steps below before you report a false positive:
1. Make sure that you have updated IObit Malware Fighter to the latest database version.
2. Click Save Report and save the scan results to where you can easily locate.
3. Click here to upload the suspicious file to VirusTotal for analyzing to verify whether it's reported as malicious file by other security software.
4. There are two ways to report a false positive:
1) Click false positive link to be connected to IObit Forums, post the report there so that IObit Support will get the information to investigate and resolve the issue quickly.
2) Click here to contact us and be sure to send us the scan report which is important for our developers to analyze and solve the issue. If possible, please also include the suspicious file zipped with password “infected” and provide us with the analysis report link from Virus Total.
Click the at the top right to open Cloud Security window and see the details about IObit Cloud Community Statistics. You can also upload suspicious files to IObit Cloud for analyzing.
Analyze a file - By clicking this button, you can upload the suspicious file to IObit Cloud for analyzing. And it will show you the scan report of the suspicious file.
Submit Samples - By clicking this link, you will be guided to IObit Forums. There you can submit the files you suspect and get help from our professional users.
