Misleading:The program reports false or exaggerated system security threats on the computer.The user is then prompted to pay for a full license of the application in order to remove the threats. Smart Protector deliberately uses false scan results in order to trick you into purchasing the program to remove the trick infections. It will be configured to execute automatically at windows startup. Once started, it will scan your computer and list a variety of infections that cannot be removed unless you purchase the program. These infections, though, are determined by the contents of the c:\Program Files\Smart Protector\mainbase.adb and c:\Program Files\Smart Protector\virusbase.adb files. So if you opened those files in Notepad and deleted the contents, the next time you ran Smart Protector it would detect nothing.So, if you find you are infected with Smart Protect, please remove it ASAP. |
