Smart Defender Pro is basically just a rename of the rogue anti-spyware application called Virus Remover Professional. The program has many similarities with Extra Antivirus, AV Antispyware, PAntispyware09 and MS Antispyware 2009. Smart DefenderPro is classified as bogus anti-spyware software because of false scan results, fake security alerts and browser hijacking. After infecting a user??s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the ??product?? by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only Smart Defender PRO can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads Smart Defender PRO trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, Smart Defender PRO offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, Smart Defender PRO does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user??s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim??s computer. In addition to all of this, having Smart Defender PRO on the system will slow it down significantly then ever before, The worst thing of course is that this parasite can install additional dangerous malware onto your computer. |
