Misleading:The program reports false or exaggerated system security threats on the computer.The user is then prompted to pay for a full license of the application in order to remove the threats. SafetyKeeper is a misleading security application, rogue spyware remover that reports false system security threats and displays fake security alerts to trick you into buying the program. It is installed through the use of Trojans that automatically download and install the program onto your computer. While running, SafetyKeeper will create files on your computer which will be later detected as serious security threats. These files are actually harmful. Furthermore, the rogue program will constantly display legitimately looking security alerts. It will also impersonate Windows Security Center and state that anti-virus software is disabled. As you can see, SafetyKeeper is designed to make you think your computer has some sort of security problem so that you get scared enough to purchase the program. If you find that you have SafetyKeeper on your computer, you should uninstall SafetyKeeper from the system as soon possible. |
