It often reports personal information back to its owners. As a result your sense of privacy can be violated. HitVirus is a rogue anti-spyware program that is generally downloaded and installed without user knowledge or consent by a Trojan or through browser security holes. HitVirus launches on Windows startup and will generate tremendous numbers of popup and pop-under adverts. HitVirus will also display notifications of imaginary security risks in its attempts to get the user to purchase the full version. HitVirus can be extremely difficult to remove manually, and will continue to try to recreate itself. HitVirus Punisher is a variant of SpySheriff (another rogue anti-spyware program). This program may install a variety of Trojans, password stealers, and other vicious parasites. |
