It comes from the same family as SaveDefense, Trust Ninja, SaveSoldier, SaveKeep and other Winisoft rogueware. In fact, BlockDefense is just a rename of the rogue applications mentioned before. Usually, BlockDefense is promoted through the use of Trojan viruses, fake online anti-spyware scanners, malicious websites and other malware. Once installed and active, this rogue ware will perform fake system scan and report various false computer security threats. What is more, it will impersonate Windows Security Center and constantly display legitimately looking security alerts and notifications that your anti-virus program is disabled. All of these fake information will scare you to purchase its full version to ensure full system protection. However, you should not trust this rogue ware and avoid it and remove BlockDefense from your PC if it is already installed. |
