The purpose of realsched is to look for automatic updates for Real Player. You can kill this realsched.exe task without any problems, just look for realsched.exe in your tasklist, highlight it and click end process. I have found this realsched.exe file to be a pain, even when I turn off this option on Real Player, it still starts this task! I always kill this task, and remove it from my startup, because Real Player sticks this junk in your startup list also. Realsched.exe is considered safe and is not considered spyware, virus, or malware related. |

You may see similiar program names running if spyware or adware is on your computer, for example, ati2evxx.exe may be slightly misspelled to keep you from finding it, or spyware and adware may be named very similiar to a system file.
